Training Groom

We are seeking a dedicated Training Groom to join our team. You will support the training and rehabilitation of resident equines through individualised programmes, including complex handling, treatments, and behavioural support.

Working within a multi-disciplinary, vet-led team, you will help deliver high standards of care, improving both safety and the quality of life for the horses.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out twice-daily field checks, providing behavioural first aid where required.
• Assist with farrier visits, treatments, and routine husbandry, including horses that find handling challenging.
• Deliver training and behaviour modification plans for designated equines, ensuring consistent, individualised care.
• Support and coach the Equine Care Team in behavioural approaches to handling.
• Maintain accurate training and behavioural records, contributing to quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Monitor horses with behavioural challenges, including collecting video footage when required.
• Assist with routine yard duties.

What We Are Looking For
• Experience in equine care and handling different types of horses
• Strong teamwork, coaching and good communication skills (including written work)
• An understanding and ability to apply behavioural science (desirable)

Location: Speen, Buckinghamshire
Salary: Circa £28,000
Working Pattern: Rota-based system (5 days on, 3 days off), 7:30am – 4:30pm
