The Facts

  1. What is the purpose of an Interview?

Interviews are an important part of the recruitment process during which the employer is able to ascertain whether a prospective employee could be a good fit for the vacant role.

The more organised and well prepared you are as an employer, the more useful your interviews will be both for you and the candidate.

  2. When must I use them?

Interviews are used ahead of making a job offer in order to assess a candidate’s suitability for the role. You can hold one interview or second interviews if you need more information before deciding on a candidate.

  3. Can I write it myself?

You can, however using the EEA Interview Creator will help you to ensure that your interview process follows legal guidelines.

It is against the law to ask candidates questions about protected characteristics or potentially discriminatory questions. The EEA Interview Creator contains questions which are relevant to your job role.
