YARD MANAGER – MICHAEL KEADY RACING, NEWMARKET

Michael Keady Racing is a growing and ambitious training yard based at Revida Place, Newmarket. We’re looking for an experienced, proactive and reliable Yard Manager to join our team and play a key role in the day-to-day running of the yard.

This is a hands-on, leadership-focused role suited to someone who thrives in a structured environment, takes pride in high standards, and is comfortable overseeing a small team. You will work closely with our trainer and racing secretary to ensure the yard runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest welfare standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain daily routines across the yard

• Manage staff rotas and ensure smooth coordination between yard staff and riders

• Monitor feed, bedding, and general supplies, and liaise with the office when ordering

• Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment

• Take the lead when the trainer is away, ensuring consistent standards are upheld

• Assist with horse care, mucking out and general duties as needed.

• Help to mentor less experienced staff and support a positive, team-focused culture

What we’re looking for:

• Prior experience in a senior yard-based role, ideally in a racing or competition yard

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

• Confident communication and leadership, with a calm and respectful attitude

• A good understanding of horse health and welfare

• Reliability, punctuality, and a hands-on work ethic
