Part-Time Groom for Livery Yard

We are looking for a punctual, tidy, kind and reliable groom to join our small, supportive team.
We pride ourselves on patient, compassionate care of our livery horses and want someone who shares our values.
Hours:
Tuesday & Wednesday
06:00AM - 12:00PM and 03:00PM-05:00PM (subject to slight day to day variations and a change of routine in the summer when the horses turn out at night).
Privately owned horses – very little to no riding required or available (occasional exercise for specific liveries).
Riding experience not essential, but you must be confident handling and leading horses, sole charge of the yard essential.

Duties include:
- Turning out / bringing in
- Checking horses over
- Rug changes, picking out feet
- Making feeds
- Mucking out shavings beds to a high standard
- Filling/soaking hay nets
- Administering medication
- Holding for vet/farrier
- General yard duties
- Sole charge
- Holiday cover in summer which includes house and dog sitting

Equine experience/education essential.
Must be punctual, adaptable and able to work to a high standard.
Friendly with liveries but happy working independently.
Quiet, well-equipped yard with kitchenette & WC.
Own transport required (remote location, ample parking).
Competitive pay, contract provided, tax & pension included.
Freelancers are also welcome to contact us however tax and pension will not be included.

There will be a trial period, references will be requested.
