Richard Hughes is looking to recruit a second Travelling Head Person to join his top-quality team. 

Job Description

  • Travelling horses to the races and sales
  • Applicants should be competent and confident saddling horses and overseeing all aspects of their care at the racecourse
  • Full liaison with owners at the races in the absence of the trainer
  • Liaising with the Trainer remotely, if not in attendance at the races
  • Opportunities to travel abroad with overseas runners at times
  • Assisting in the organisation and maintenance of the racing tack room (colours, tack, staff, clothing etc)
  • Maintenance of horseboxes eg. Cleaning after racing and reporting any faults to the office
  • Riding out and general yard duties when not racing.

Requirements

  • Applicants should have a full, clean driving license and be confident driving a two-horse (3.5T) horsebox.
  • Applicants should be experienced and confident in travelling horses, well organised and able to work as part of a team.
