Based in North Devon, Chester Williams Racing is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Person to join our growing team and a quality string of talented horses following a highly successful debut season.

This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key, hands-on leadership role within a calm, professional yard environment that prides itself on high standards of both horse and staff welfare.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of horse care and yard operations, working closely with the trainer to ensure the highest standards are maintained at all times.

Duties will include:

  • Overseeing daily care and welfare of racehorses
  • Riding work as required
  • Managing veterinary treatments and liaising with vets
  • Coordinating farrier visits and schedules
  • Supervising and supporting yard staff
  • Maintaining excellent yard organisation and routines

Requirements

  • Proven experience in horse care management within a racing yard
  • Confident rider
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and horse welfare
  • Full driving licence essential
