SEARCHING FOR A MARVELLOUS MANAGER

FROM 1 OCTOBER 2023

 

 We are a successful not for profit social enterprise with fifteen horses of various ages and sizes providing equine facilitated learning, seeking an experienced centre manager to manage our team of four.

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience running a professional yard
  • Be skilled at all aspects of management including finance and HR
  • Be skilled in equine care and able to oversee care and rehabilitation of horses
  • Be skilled in site management and able to oversee infrastructure maintenance and engage contractors and manage farm machinery
  • Be able to drive a horse box to take horse to vet if needed
  • Be confident handling and rehabilitating rescue horses including riding if applicable
  • Be a successful people manager able to successfully manage friendly team and recruit as necessary
  • Be professional and confident in representing the business in its expansion
  • Hold BHS Stage III or IV or be willing to study and take these as a priority.
  • Be able to ensure we continue to meet BHS Highly Commended Standard and all other licensing and compliance requirements

You will be  responsible for managing the site, the budget, staff and horses, reporting to the Director: ensuring all horses and people are healthy and happy, that the site is clean, smart, compliant and safe and that the business is growing by organising events and activities, promoting the business and obtaining funding.

 

 

We can offer a fabulous working environment on a beautiful yard comprising 40 acres of post and rail fenced improved grazing, four arenas including a new indoor arena, large new internal stables in American barn, with a friendly team.

 Own horse and well behaved pet(s) welcome.

All BHS examinations paid by employer including transport and accommodation for exam.

 

Amazing free accommodation consisting of large new three bedroom house with two bathrooms, large new kitchen with AGA, large utility room, terrace, ample parking, two large reception rooms, Sky glass TV, wireless broadband, wood stove, oil fired central heating. SALARY £37000 TO £41000 PER ANNUM PRO RATA BASED ON QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

Working hours are 20 hours per week over five days

Start and finish times can be flexible to accommodate employee commitments

Thirty three days holiday per year

Company pension

All BHS training and examinations paid

Position start date is 1 October 2023
