Manor House Stables have vacancies for Staff to join their Travelling Team in Cheshire.

 Full time role, with extensive travel to racecourses during the height of the season, and all year round.

Job Description

  • Travelling horses to the races and sales
  • Applicants should be competent and confident saddling horses and overseeing all aspects of their care at the racecourse
  • Full liaison with the owners at the races in the absence of the trainer
  • Liaising with the Trainer remotely, if not in attendance at the races
  • Requirement to travel abroad with overseas runners at times
  • Assisting in the organisation and maintainence the racing tack room (colours, tack, staff, clothing etc)
  • Maintenance of horseboxes eg. Cleaning after racing and reporting any faults to the office
  • Riding out and general yard duties when not racing (Please note. Non-riding positions are also available)
  • Assisting head lads in the yard when not required to travel

Requirements

  • Applicants should have a full, clean driving license and be confident driving a two horse (3.5T) horsebox. HGV license is an advantage, but not a necessity.
  • Applicants should be experienced and confident in travelling horses, well organised and able to work as part of a team.
